Step-by-step eSIM setup guide for Samsung Galaxy devices

What You Need

  • A Samsung phone compatible with eSIM
  • The installation email with QR code and activation details

Important Notice

Manual APN setup required for Turkey, Uzbekistan and Georgia (Android only), use 'isp'.

QR Code Setup (Recommended)

Samsung Settings

Go to Settings > Connections

Open the Settings app on your Samsung device and navigate to "Connections" section.

Tip: Look for the gear icon in your app drawer or notification panel

SIM Manager

Tap on "SIM manager"

In the Connections menu, look for and tap on "SIM manager" or "SIM card manager" option.

Note: This option might be called "SIM card manager" on some Samsung models

Add eSIM

Tap "Add eSIM/Mobile plan"

Look for the option to "Add eSIM" or "Add mobile plan" and tap on it.

Alternative: Some models show "Add mobile plan" instead of "Add eSIM"

Scan QR Code

Click "Scan QR Code"

Select "Scan QR Code" option and point your camera at the QR code from your email or the Simtegre app.

Important: Make sure you have good lighting and hold the QR code steady. You can find your QR code in the email we sent you or in the "My eSIMs" section of the Simtegre app.

Data Roaming

Enable Data Roaming

CRITICAL: Make sure you have data roaming enabled for your eSIM to work properly!

Warning: Without data roaming enabled, your eSIM will not connect to the internet

APN Configuration (Required for Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia)

For Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Georgia destinations, you need to manually configure the APN settings:

Go to "Settings" > "Connections" > "Mobile networks" > "Access Point Names"

Tap the "+" button or "Add" to create a new APN

Enter the following APN settings:

  • Name: Simtegre
  • APN: isp
  • Username: (leave blank)
  • Password: (leave blank)
  • Authentication type: None
  • APN type: default,supl

Save the APN and select it as your active APN

Important: This APN configuration is only required for Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. For other countries, the eSIM will work automatically.

Manual Setup (Alternative)

If you cannot scan the QR code, follow these manual setup instructions:

Go to "Settings", tap "Connections", then tap "SIM card manager" on your device.

Tap "Add mobile plan", then tap "Scan carrier QR code".

Tap "Enter activation code".

Enter the SM-DP+ Address & Activation Code by copying them from your email or the Simtegre app, tap "Connect", then tap "Confirm".

QR Code Setup (Recommended)

Pixel Settings

Go to Settings > Network & Internet

Open the Settings app on your Google Pixel device and navigate to "Network & Internet" section.

Tip: Pixel devices have a clean, Material Design interface

SIM Manager

Tap on "SIMs"

In the Network & Internet menu, look for and tap on "SIMs" or "Mobile Network" option.

Note: Pixel devices use "SIMs" in newer versions of Android

Download eSIM

Tap "Download eSIM"

Look for the "Download eSIM" option and tap on it, then scan the QR code from your email or the Simtegre app.

Alternative: Some Pixel models show "Add eSIM" instead. You can find your QR code in the email we sent you or in the "My eSIMs" section of the Simtegre app.

Data Roaming

Enable Data Roaming

CRITICAL: Make sure you have data roaming enabled for your eSIM to work properly!

Warning: Without data roaming enabled, your eSIM will not connect to the internet

For Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Georgia destinations, you need to manually configure the APN settings:

Go to "Settings" > "Network & internet" > "Mobile network" > "Advanced" > "Access Point Names"

Tap the "+" button or "Add" to create a new APN

Enter the following APN settings:

  • Name: Simtegre
  • APN: isp
  • Username: (leave blank)
  • Password: (leave blank)
  • Authentication type: None
  • APN type: default,supl

Save the APN and select it as your active APN

Important: This APN configuration is only required for Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. For other countries, the eSIM will work automatically.

Manual Setup (Alternative)

If you cannot scan the QR code, follow these manual setup instructions:

Go to "Settings", tap "Network & internet", then tap "(+)" next to the SIMs section, if it's not available tap "SIMs/Mobile network" on your device.

Tap "Download a SIM instead?", then tap "Next".

Tap "Use a different network" if you need to confirm your network.

Tap "Need help?", then tap "Enter it manually".

Enter the SM-DP+ Address & Activation Code by copying them from your email or the Simtegre app, tap "Continue", then tap "Download/Activate".

Tap "Settings/Done" when you see the Download Finished screen.

Xiaomi Settings

Go to Settings > Mobile networks

Open the Settings app on your Xiaomi device and navigate to "Mobile networks" section.

Tip: Xiaomi MIUI has a distinctive orange accent color

Manage eSIM

Turn on eSIM and Tap "Manage eSIM"

First enable eSIM functionality, then tap on "Manage eSIM" option.

Note: You may need to enable eSIM first in the settings

Add eSIM

Tap "Add eSIM" and Scan QR Code

Look for "Add eSIM" option and tap on it, then scan the QR code from your email or the Simtegre app.

Alternative: Some MIUI versions show "Add mobile plan" instead. You can find your QR code in the email we sent you or in the "My eSIMs" section of the Simtegre app.

Configure Settings

IMPORTANT: Ensure your eSIM is set for mobile data, calls are on your main line, and data roaming is enabled.

Warning: Without proper configuration, your eSIM may not work correctly

Instead of scanning the qrcode, push "Add manually instead"

Tap "Use activation code".

Enter the SM-DP+ Address & Activation Code by copying them from your email or the Simtegre app, tap Ok, then tap "Add".

Tap "Got it" when you see the Download Finished screen.

Step-by-step eSIM setup guide for iPhone and iPad devices

What You Need

  • An iPhone compatible with eSIM
  • The installation email with QR code and activation details

QR Code Setup (Recommended)

iPhone Settings

Go to Settings > Mobile Service/Cellular

Open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to "Cellular" or "Mobile Service" section.

Tip: Look for the gear icon in your home screen or Control Center

Add eSIM

Tap "add eSIM"

Look for and tap "add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan" option in the Cellular settings.

Note: This option may be called "Add Cellular Plan" on some iOS versions

Use QR Code

Tap "Use a QR code"

Select "Use a QR code" option and scan the QR code from your email or the Simtegre app.

Alternative: You can also enter details manually if QR scanning doesn't work. You can find your QR code in the email we sent you or in the "My eSIMs" section of the Simtegre app.

Activate eSIM

Activate the eSIM

After scanning the QR code, activate the eSIM by tapping "Continue". Make sure you have 2 network signal bars on top.

Check: Look for signal bars in the status bar to confirm activation

Select Label

Select a label for your plan

Tap the new eSIM installed to rename it. Choose a descriptive name like "Travel eSIM" or "Simtegre".

Tip: Use a clear name to easily identify your eSIM later

Customize Label

Customize the label of the eSIM

Rename it to "Simtegre" or any name you prefer for easy identification.

Example: "Travel eSIM", "Simtegre", or "International Data"

Set Default Line

Set your Primary SIM as Default Line

Choose which SIM should be your primary line for calls and messages.

Note: This determines which number people will see when you call them

iMessage & FaceTime

Set your Primary SIM for iMessage & FaceTime

Choose which SIM to use for iMessage and FaceTime communications.

Tip: Usually keep your main number for iMessage and FaceTime

eSIM Installed

eSIM is installed

Go to Settings > Mobile Service/Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to your new eSIM.

Important: This step ensures your eSIM is used for data

Enable Roaming

Enable roaming on eSIM

Enable data roaming on the new eSIM to ensure it can connect to networks abroad.

Warning: Without roaming enabled, your eSIM won't work outside your home country

Low Data Mode

Enable low data mode on eSIM

Tap "Data Mode" and make sure "Low Data Mode" is selected to save data usage.

Benefit: This helps conserve your data allowance while traveling

Setup Complete

Setup Complete!

IMPORTANT: If you are not in the destination country, you need to select your primary SIM as "Cellular Data" and change it after you arrive at your destination.

Success: Your eSIM is now ready to use! Test it by browsing the internet.

Manual Setup (Alternative)

If you cannot scan the QR code, follow these manual setup instructions:

Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data > Add eSIM or Set up Cellular/Mobile Service > Use QR Code on your device.

Tap "Enter Details Manually" and enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code by copying them from your email or the Simtegre app, tap "Next", then tap "Continue" twice and wait for a while.

Your eSIM will connect to the network, this may take a few minutes, then tap "Done".

Choose a label for your new eSIM plan.

Choose "Primary" for your default line, then tap "Continue".

Choose the "Primary" you want to use with iMessage and FaceTime for your Apple ID, then tap "Continue".

Choose your new eSIM plan for cellular/mobile data, then tap "Continue".
